Brevo WhatsApp Pricing and Cost per Message on the Professional Plan

Brevo calls its WhatsApp API free, then sells the credits only on a plan that starts at $499 a month. Pick your volume in the estimator to see the real monthly bill and what the same send costs when Meta bills your own account.

Credit rates are read from Brevo's own WhatsApp price list in USD and plan prices from Brevo's pricing page.

Credits per message 0.4
Brevo cost per message $0.0044
Professional plan $499.00 /mo
Brevo total a month $542.60
WaBulkSend plan plus Meta $133.00

Brevo sells credits at $1.09 per 100 in USD. Our side is the monthly plan plus Meta's North America fee ($0.0034 utility, $0.025 marketing), billed by Meta to your own account.

Brevo WhatsApp costs a plan plus credits. WhatsApp credits can only be bought on the Professional and Enterprise plans, and Professional lists at $499 a month in USD, or $5,388.96 a year when billed annually.

Credits cost $1.09 per 100. A utility template to a US or Canadian number uses 0.4 credits, about $0.0044, and a marketing template 2.957 credits, about $0.0322. That per-message rate is fair. The plan fee is what makes WhatsApp on Brevo expensive for a team that only needs the one channel.

Brevo WhatsApp credits per message by country

These are the credit rates Brevo's own price list returns for the markets US businesses message most, converted at $1.09 per 100 credits. One delivered template consumes the number of credits shown. Brevo groups the US and Canada into one rate.

About 28 percent over Meta

Meta charges $0.0034 for a North America utility template and $0.025 for marketing. Brevo's $0.0044 and $0.0322 sit roughly 28 to 29 percent above those fees, which is the markup inside the credit.

Credits never expire

Brevo's help center says WhatsApp credits are an add-on outside the subscription and do not expire. Buy a large pack in a busy quarter and it carries forward. The plan fee does not.

Charges can stack

Brevo warns that if you send a marketing template and then restart the conversation with another template, you pay for both. Plan re-engagement flows with that in mind.

Which Brevo plan includes WhatsApp

Brevo prices its plans mainly on email volume, and WhatsApp sits two tiers up. These are the entry prices Brevo lists in USD.

WhatsApp included

Brevo's WhatsApp API page says the API is free to use, with no setup or license fee, and that you pay only for the messages you send. Both statements are accurate about the connection. What that page does not put next to them is the line from the pay as you go page: WhatsApp credits are available to purchase on Professional and Enterprise plans. A marketer on the $18 Standard plan who wants to add WhatsApp is really pricing a jump to $499 a month.

Professional does add real value if you use it: 10 seats, contact scoring, web and mobile push, popups and a higher email allowance. If your team will use those, the WhatsApp channel comes along at a fair per-message rate. If WhatsApp is the only reason for the upgrade, compare it with our Brevo WhatsApp alternative page, which covers what a dedicated sender does differently.

Brevo WhatsApp cost at five US volumes

Utility templates to US numbers, monthly billing on both sides. Brevo's column is the Professional plan plus 0.4 credits a message at $1.09 per 100. Ours is the matching WaBulkSend plan plus Meta's $0.0034 fee, which Meta bills to your own WhatsApp Business Account.

US utility messages a month Brevo credits Brevo total WaBulkSend plus Meta
2,500$10.90$509.90$57.50
10,000$43.60$542.60$133.00
50,000$218.00$717.00$469.00
100,000$436.00$935.00$639.00
250,000$1,090.00$1,589.00$1,149.00

There is no crossover. Brevo's credit rate ($0.0044) is higher than Meta's own fee ($0.0034), so the gap widens by about $0.001 a message as you grow, on top of the $200 difference between Brevo Professional and our $299 top plan. Billed yearly, Brevo Professional drops to $449.08 a month and ours to $149.50, which moves both columns but not the order. To line Brevo up against every other provider's fee and markup, use the cheapest WhatsApp API provider comparison.

Three US rules that change a Brevo WhatsApp budget

RULE 01

No marketing templates to +1 numbers

Brevo's help center opens its pricing article with it. Meta suspended marketing template delivery to US phone numbers on April 1, 2025. The 2.957 credit rate still buys Canadian delivery, but promotional campaigns to a US list need utility templates tied to a real order or account event.

RULE 02

Service messages from October 1, 2026

Brevo's price list has two columns, marketing and utility, and no service rate. Meta starts charging for service replies on October 1, 2026. If your team answers customers in Brevo Conversations, ask Brevo how those replies will be billed. Our WhatsApp service messages page tracks the change.

RULE 03

Opt-in you can prove

Brevo collects WhatsApp consent through its signup forms, and Meta requires it before any template goes out. Keep the record of when and where each contact agreed. The wording that holds up is on our WhatsApp opt-in page.

Brevo vs a dedicated WhatsApp campaign tool

Brevo is an email-first marketing suite that added WhatsApp. WaBulkSend does one job, bulk WhatsApp campaigns from your own number. Where Brevo wins, the table says so.

What a buyer needs Brevo Professional WaBulkSend
Smallest monthly bill with WhatsApp$499 plus credits$49 ($24.50 billed yearly)
US utility message$0.0044 in Brevo credits$0.0034, billed by Meta

WhatsApp numbersUp to 25 on one business account1, 3 or unlimited by plan
Audience sourceBrevo contact lists and formsCSV or Excel import, any source
Best forTeams that will use email, automation and WhatsApp togetherTeams that need WhatsApp broadcasts without a $499 plan

Plenty of US teams keep Brevo for email on Starter or Standard and run WhatsApp elsewhere from an exported list. It is the same split teams make with the Klaviyo WhatsApp integration and with Marketing Cloud WhatsApp pricing, where the suite's WhatsApp tier costs more than the channel earns.

How to send WhatsApp campaigns to a Brevo list without upgrading

1

Export the opted-in contacts

Filter your Brevo list on WhatsApp consent and export it to CSV with the phone and name columns.

2

Connect your number

Link your WhatsApp Business Account. Meta bills its fee to that account at cost.

3

Map fields to variables

Pick an approved template, fill its variables from your columns and schedule the send.

4

Track every recipient

See delivered, read, failed and link clicks per contact, and export the results back to Brevo.

The file step is covered in detail on the Excel to WhatsApp page. If you are weighing a messaging API instead of a suite, Twilio WhatsApp pricing is the benchmark most US teams start from.

Questions buyers ask about Brevo WhatsApp pricing

How much does Brevo WhatsApp cost?

Two layers. First the plan: WhatsApp credits can only be bought on Brevo's Professional and Enterprise plans, and Professional lists at $499 a month in USD, or $5,388.96 a year billed annually. Then the messages: prepaid credits at $1.09 per 100, with a US utility template using 0.4 credits (about $0.0044) and a marketing template 2.957 credits (about $0.0322).

Which Brevo plan includes WhatsApp?

Professional and Enterprise. Brevo's pricing page lists WhatsApp under the additional marketing channels that Professional adds on top of Standard, and its pay as you go page states that WhatsApp credits are available to purchase on Professional and Enterprise plans. The Free, Starter and Standard plans cannot send WhatsApp campaigns.

Is the Brevo WhatsApp API free?

Brevo describes its WhatsApp API as free to use with no setup or license fee, and that is true of the connection itself. In practice you still need the Professional plan to buy the credits every message consumes, so the entry price for sending is $499 a month plus usage.

How many credits does a WhatsApp message use on Brevo?

It depends on the recipient's country and the template category. Brevo's price list sets 0.4 credits for a utility template to the US and Canada and 2.957 for marketing. The United Kingdom is 2.6 and 7.515, Mexico 1.014 and 3.614, Germany 6.514 and 16.157. Credits cost $1.09 per 100 in USD.

Do Brevo WhatsApp credits expire?

No. Brevo's help center says WhatsApp credits are bought as an add-on, are not included in subscriptions and never expire. That makes them easy to stockpile, but the plan fee still recurs every month whether or not you send anything.

Can Brevo send WhatsApp marketing messages to US numbers?

No. Brevo's own help center notes that Meta suspended delivery of WhatsApp marketing templates to US phone numbers on April 1, 2025. The 2.957 credit marketing rate still applies to Canadian numbers, but a US list can only receive utility and authentication templates tied to a real transaction or account event. What still works is covered on our WhatsApp marketing messages page.

Is Brevo cheaper than Twilio for WhatsApp?

Per message, close: about $0.0044 on Brevo against $0.0084 all in on Twilio for a US utility template. But Twilio has no monthly platform fee, and Brevo needs the $499 Professional plan, so Twilio stays cheaper until about 123,500 US utility messages a month.

What is a cheaper alternative to Brevo for WhatsApp campaigns?

If you only need WhatsApp broadcasts, a dedicated campaign tool where Meta bills your own account avoids the Professional plan. On WaBulkSend, 10,000 US utility templates cost $133 a month ($99 plan plus Meta's $0.0034 fee) against about $543 on Brevo Professional.

Send WhatsApp campaigns to your Brevo list from $49 a month

Import the export, use your approved templates, schedule the send and see delivery for every recipient. No Professional plan and no credit markup. Meta bills its fee to your own account.
