US recipientsManyChat picks the cheapest of Pro, Business and Advanced with overage at its published per-contact rates. Our side uses Meta's $0.0034 US utility rate, billed by Meta to your own account.
ManyChat sells WhatsApp only on Pro ($39 a month, or $29 billed yearly), Business ($99 or $69) and Advanced ($199 or $139). Each plan includes a monthly allowance of Active Contacts: 2,500, 7,500 and 25,000. Anyone who receives a WhatsApp broadcast counts as active that month, and each contact above the allowance costs $0.05, $0.025 or $0.004 on monthly billing.
Messages are billed on top from a prepaid ManyChat Wallet. For US and Canadian numbers, ManyChat charges $0.0039 per utility template, about 15 percent above the $0.0034 base rate Meta charges and that providers such as Twilio pass through. So a 10,000-person monthly WhatsApp broadcast costs about $200 on ManyChat's cheapest fitting plan, before seats.

Why review sites quote different numbers
Most pricing roundups still describe the old ManyChat Pro table, which started at $15 and scaled with your total contact list. That model ended for new accounts on March 2, 2026. Accounts created earlier stay on it until ManyChat migrates them country by country, so two ManyChat customers can be on different price lists today. The same roundups also quote WhatsApp "per conversation", a billing unit Meta retired in July 2025.
You can cap the overage
ManyChat lets you set a contact limit under Settings, Billing, Subscription. Once you hit it, automations keep running only for contacts already active that month. That protects your card from a viral post, but for a broadcast it means the send stops reaching new people, so decide the cap before a campaign rather than during one.
ManyChat WhatsApp message rates for US numbers
ManyChat bills WhatsApp messages from its Wallet, which you top up by card, separately from the subscription. It groups the United States and Canada as North America.

The Meta column is the rate Twilio and 360dialog pass through unchanged for US numbers. ManyChat's utility and marketing rates for North America both sit about 15 percent above it. On 10,000 US utility messages that is $39 through ManyChat against $34 at Meta's rate, a small gap next to the contact overage, which is where ManyChat's bill really grows. What a ManyChat WhatsApp broadcast really costs
Every recipient of a broadcast becomes an Active Contact that month, even if you imported the number from a spreadsheet and they never reply. That is the line most buyers miss. Monthly billing, US utility templates, one message per contact:

We are not the cheaper option everywhere, and the table says so. At 25,000 contacts ManyChat Advanced includes the whole list for $199, while our Enterprise plan is $299, so ManyChat wins that row by about $88. Below that, and again at 50,000, a flat campaign plan comes out ahead because it charges for messages you send rather than people you reach. Pro only makes sense for lists under about 3,700 contacts; past that, Business is cheaper even before you count its extra seats. Five things to check before you pay for ManyChat WhatsApp
The Wallet pauses sends when empty
ManyChat checks your Wallet before each template and pauses the automation if the balance cannot cover the next message. Auto-refill is off by default. Turn it on, with a daily cap, before a large broadcast.
Imports count as opted in
ManyChat treats every contact you import as opted in to the bot. It does not check your consent records, you do. Import only numbers that agreed to WhatsApp messages from your business, or your quality rating pays for it.
The trial does not cover messages
Pro has a 14-day trial. Business and Advanced have none. On any plan, WhatsApp template fees come out of the Wallet from the first delivered message, so a trial broadcast still costs money.
Chat history stays behind
You can connect a number already on the WhatsApp Business App or with another provider. ManyChat's setup guide warns that your existing chat history does not move over, and some Business App features may not be available after the switch.
Service replies start costing October 1
From October 1, 2026 ManyChat charges for free-form replies inside the customer service window, $0.0034 each in North America after 1,000 free per number each month. A busy support bot will see that line appear on the Wallet statement.

If most of your WhatsApp contacts arrive from Instagram comments or TikTok DMs, ManyChat is the better tool and worth the premium. How much does ManyChat cost for WhatsApp?
WhatsApp starts on ManyChat Pro at $39 a month, or $29 a month billed yearly, with 2,500 Active Contacts included. Business is $99 or $69 with 7,500, and Advanced is $199 or $139 with 25,000. WhatsApp messages are charged separately from your ManyChat Wallet, at $0.0039 per utility template sent to a US or Canadian number.
Is ManyChat free for WhatsApp?
No. ManyChat's help center lists WhatsApp, SMS and email as unavailable on both the Free plan and the $17 Essential plan. WhatsApp needs Pro or higher. Pro includes a 14-day trial, but WhatsApp message fees are charged from your Wallet from the first billable message, trial or not.
Does ManyChat charge per message on WhatsApp?
Yes. ManyChat charges for each template message delivered, priced by category and the recipient's country, and deducts it from your ManyChat Wallet right after delivery. For North America its rate is $0.0039 per utility template and $0.0287 per marketing template. Messages customers send you are free.
Do WhatsApp broadcast recipients count as ManyChat Active Contacts?
Yes. ManyChat's Active Contacts article says imported contacts count as active in any month they send or receive messages through automation, AI, broadcasts or live chat. So a 10,000-person WhatsApp broadcast makes 10,000 contacts active, which on Pro means 7,500 contacts of overage at $0.05 each on monthly billing.
Can ManyChat send bulk WhatsApp messages?
Yes, on Pro and above. ManyChat's WhatsApp broadcasting sends a message template to all opted-in contacts, or a regular message to contacts inside an open 24 hour window. You can import numbers by CSV, and ManyChat treats every imported contact as opted in, so the consent record is yours to keep. Our WhatsApp opt-in guide covers what that record needs.
Can ManyChat send WhatsApp marketing messages in the US?
No. ManyChat's own pricing guide notes that Meta paused marketing template delivery to United States numbers from April 1, 2025, and that applies to every provider. ManyChat still lists a $0.0287 North America marketing rate, which applies to Canadian recipients. US campaigns run on utility templates or inside the 24 hour window.
Will ManyChat charge for WhatsApp service messages after October 1, 2026?
Yes. ManyChat's pricing guide says service messages, the free-form replies sent inside the customer service window, become billable on October 1, 2026. Each WhatsApp number gets 1,000 free service messages per calendar month, then ManyChat charges $0.0034 per North America service message from the 1,001st. Can I use my existing WhatsApp number with ManyChat?
Yes. ManyChat connects a number you already use on the WhatsApp Business App, a number held by another provider, or a fresh number, and can also give you a new one during setup. Its help center warns that your chat history does not transfer, so back it up first.
Is ManyChat worth it for WhatsApp?
It is worth it when WhatsApp is one channel in an Instagram, TikTok or Messenger funnel, because ManyChat's comment-to-DM flows and cross-channel lead capture are its strength. For list broadcasting to customers you already have, its per-contact overage and higher per-message rate usually make a flat WhatsApp campaign tool cheaper.
